On A Scale Of 1 - 10....




Where Would You Rate This???
When something happens to you that throws you off, you immediately go into panic mode. Your heart starts to beat louder, your face starts to flush, and you find it difficult to breath and concentrate. It could be anything from you forgot your keys at work and are locked out of your house, you burnt your pancakes this morning and spilt coffee on yourself, or your father just got diagnosed with chronic cancer.
These are all serious life stressors that can be thrown at you at ANY MOMENT without warning. How we react to these stressors is what is important. A good friend of mine once told me to put everything on a scale of 1-10. 1 is the least amount of stress (you forgot a pack of gum at home), 5 is a medium stressor, and 10 would be the absolute worst thing you can ever imagine happening to you (a death in the family).
The next time something happens that catapults you into a frenzy, sit back and evaluate how SERIOUS it actually is to you in the scheme of things. Is it a 2?? Is it a 6?? Once you look at it that way, you can get a better outlook of how you need to react to that particular situation. In my world, every thing that comes my way that I was not planning puts me at a 10. But when I think about it, it usually brings it down lower than a 5.
Next time something happens to you, STOP. EVALUATE. THINK ABOUT IT. Where would you rate this???
